About Ashton
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I'm an aggressive, high-IQ player who impacts the game on both sides of the ball. Defensively, I read hitters well and close blocks with strong timing and discipline. Offensively, I attack with power and control, placing the ball where I want while staying efficient. I play fast, physical, and smart, and I take pride in being a complete, dependable player in every rotation.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
rma vocal, accountable leader who sets the tone through effort and energy. I believe leadership is earned through preparation, discipline, and how you respond under pressure. The play is never over until the whistle blows, and I expect that same standard from myself and my teammates. I compete hard, stay composed in big moments, and take pride in elevating those around me.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a consistent High Honor Roll student at Tampa Prep High-School and a member of Future Leaders of America. I am also involved in Greek Mythology Club, Dance, and Theater, participating in large-scale choreographed productions outside of school. Balancing academics, leadership, performing arts, and athletics has strengthened my discipline, time management, and ability to perform under pressure.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed leadership as a team captain at both the high school and club levels, leading by example and setting a high standard for effort and accountability. Through community service with Feeding Tampa Bay, local shelters, and hurricane relief efforts, I've strengthened my teamwork, discipline, and commitment to serving others on and off the court.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
One significant challenge I've faced is being one of the youngest in my age group due to my late birthday. At 5'9" and one of the most athletic on my team, I still competed against older, more physically developed athletes. That pushed me to rely on skill, preparation, and volleyball IQ, building my confidence, mental toughness, and leadership. It ultimately led to success at the national level.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for a university that will challenge me academically and allow me to compete at the highest level possible. I want to pursue a strong education while contributing to a competitive program where I can continue to develop and make an impact both on and off the court.
