With the physical Bobnar at the net, Magnolia registered four wins and four losses over the weekend. The senior middle offered her team a strong presence at the net and was a factor on both sides of the ball. Bobnar had a very high contact point and displayed enough firepower to make it hard for opposing defenders to control her swings – she also hit from the left in one rotation and did well. The middle’s blocking was also very productive, as she always reacted quickly and was able to put up a big block in front of opponents. Bobnar was effective from the service line too, serving aggressively and getting opponents out of system.

Bobnar is a middle from Magnolia High School and the TAV Houston club who made a very good impression in our last Showcase in the winter. She has great size to play the position and has displayed a very high volleyball IQ too, getting most of her decisions right and producing extremely well in the middle. Her offense is very well-developed as Bobnar can hit different sets and is very effective with her swings, making contact with the ball at a high point and hitting with power. She also serves very well and consistently creates problems for opponents with her floater.

Bobnar was one of the best middles in our event when it came to scoring points. Her offensive game was extremely well-developed, combining some interesting elements. She’s tall and can swing hard, but what made of her such a productive player was her ability to hit different sets and to hit the ball into different directions. Bobnar also displayed good ball control when she had to make the first contact around the net.
