Her setting mechanics and distribution reflect a player who understands what her hitters need to be effective, and the right side attacking dimension adds a layer of offensive value that will only become more relevant as her physical development continues. When you watch her hands, you will see that they look like mirror-images of each other and that tells you a lot about her training.  You can easily see that she has put so much time and attention into making sure her mechanics are solid as she continues to try to make her dreams of going to the next level come true. Jilian Edwards, a setter for Skyline, brings a fast-paced and reliable presence to the court with her quick and clean delivery. Her ability to consistently put the ball in the right spot gives her hitters a smooth, effective tempo throughout the match. Beyond running the offense, Jilian prioritizes defense first, showing strong awareness and a willingness to compete for every ball. She also adds pressure from the service line, serving aggressively with the intent to score aces and keep opponents off balance.

Edwards sets for the TW Skyline 15 Royal team that will appear in the 15 Open division this weekend in Missouri. To describe her as the team setter would probably be an understatement, considering everything she does for them. Edwards thrives in her playmaking role as she’s both very technical, consistently getting her hitters in good position to score thanks to her accuracy, and intelligent, making great choices with her distribution and successfully finding ways to elude opposing blockers with her moves. Because of her excellent all-around game, she also takes on hitting duties with a high level of efficiency when up at the net and contributes with reliable serving and solid defense on the backcourt.

Highlights

Edwards saw her TW Skyline 15 Royal side finish in second place with a campaign of two wins and one loss. An excellent all-around player, she was one of the most complete and promising prospects on the court. Edwards played a dual role for TW Royal, winning when she was at the net and setting when on the backcourt. Despite her not being very tall, her offense was very efficient as she displayed great vision and a quick and skilled right arm, which allowed her to beat blockers in the last second and find nice spots for her tips and roll shoots. Edwards also thrived with her setting, running the team’s offense efficiently with her ability to remain consistent with her locations.
