About Ava

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel I have a high volleyball IQ and understanding of the game. I play with an incredible amount of passion and positive energy. I feel my athleticism and responsiveness are the strengths of my game. I have played as a 6 rotation PIN and feel comfortable in all positions. I am aggressive, energetic, and driven.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I always try to be a leader on and off the court. I am outgoing and passionate. College volleyball has been a goal of mine since I was 12 years old. I am driven, focused, and have worked extremely hard. More than anything, I want to be a great teammate, coachable, and leave everything on the court. Volleyball drives me, and it is who I am.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was an academic all-district selection as a freshmen, and have earned merit roll and honor roll recognition throughout my high school career. I was also selected as sophomore Homecoming Court representative for my class.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has made me the person I am today. It teaches team work, discipline, and highlights leadership qualities on and off the court. Working together to achieve a common goal. Everyone on the court has a role, and a team cannot be successful without everyone doing their job. Volleyball and athletics in general, teach you how to deal with successes, failures, and grow as a person.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

At USA Nationals on June 27, 2025 I tore my ACL, and also injured my meniscus and MCL. I had surgery to repair my ACL on August 6 and I am currently tackling my rehab head on. I am on track to return to practice in February, and while this has been the hardest obstacle of my life, it has only reinforced my passion for the game of volleyball. I will do anything to get back on the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

At this time, I am open to any and all colleges that may be interested.
