‘ has a story to tell, it is one of perseverance . After suffering a major knee injury in 2024, she didn’t know if she would return to the court. Instead of letting the injury define her, Edwards attacked her rehabilitation with the same determination she brings to every practice. “Within six months I was on the court almost every day, getting as many reps as possible,” Edwards said. “Almost two years later, I have been able to play to my full potential and come into every practice giving 110 percent every time, even when I’m tired.”
She believes that work ethic, combined with her willingness to be coached, sets her apart from other players in the 2027 class. “I am also very coachable,” she said. “A coach can tell me to do the wildest thing, and I will do it because I trust coaches with all my heart.”
As Edwards looks toward the next level, she is searching for a program that emphasizes both athletic and personal growth. “I’m looking for a Division III, NAIA, or JUCO program that will push me to my full potential, support me both athletically and academically, and provide a positive team culture and environment,” she said. “I want to build positive relationships with my teammates and coaches while having as much fun as possible playing the sport I love.”
Edwards hopes they notice the qualities that extend beyond passing and defense.
“One thing I would like them to know about my game is my high IQ,” she said. “I have a great eye for the court and can find the holes and open spots.”
She also takes pride in the energy she brings to every match. “As a teammate, I am very vocal and encouraging. Whether my teammates like it or not, I will always have high energy, encourage to the fullest, and help push and support my teammates to the best of their abilities. I will always be my teammates’ biggest cheerleader on the court and off.”
Scout’s Take: Edwards brings the qualities every program wants in a defensive specialist—resilience, work ethic, coachability, and leadership. Her comeback from a significant knee injury shows her determination, while her court awareness and vocal presence make her more than just a libero. She reads the game well, keeps teammates engaged, and competes with contagious energy. Coaches looking for a dependable back-row player who will raise the culture of a program should keep Edwards in mind.
