Ava Steubs made a huge name for herself this past high school season, being one of the top D4 players in Wisconsin while leading her high school team to a state championship.  What really stands out about her game is the pop she has on her swing.  She creates plenty of chaos for the other side of the net with her violent arm swing.  She can do this from the outside or right side where she just has a knack for scoring points. 

Ava improved from #27 to #13 in the rankings update. Ava is one of the grittiest athletes on the court. She has had an incredible run the past year and shows no signs of slowing down. She stands out by continuing to improve her game and prove her high volleyball IQ. Ava is a true 6-rotation athlete who can honestly do it all. She is confident in her game and does not hesitate on the court.

Ava is one of the most well-rounded and explosive pins in this class. She is dependable and fearless on the court and isn’t afraid to make big plays in big moments. She proved that when she took a no-look line shot swing to win the State Championship just a few weeks ago. Her hard work and experience fuel Ava’s aggressiveness, and she is an electric player to watch live. Ava earned 1st Team All-State Honors and All-Tournament Team honors.

Ava is absolutely electric on the court. She is an energizer and was constantly building up other athletes around her. Ava has a way of making competitive plays out of tough balls, and she is absolutely relentless. She has a toolbox of shots and sees the court incredibly well. Her power is just impressive to watch, and she can do everything from finding the deep line shot to tooling the block consistently. She is also a high-level defender.

Ava is another player coming off of a state championship run. She is a 6-rotation stud of an outside hitter who is nearly unstoppable. I had the opportunity to see her play at the Gauntlet last club season, but her game has really elevated to the next level during the high school season. She earned All Tournament Team honors at state and was also Conference Player of the Year. Ava is only a sophomore and is already earning top accolades in the state.

OH-Ava Stuebs led Manitowoc Lutheran to 5 set victories in both their Sectional Semi-final and Sectional final games, earning the team a State run for the first time since 2009! Ava posted 31 kills, 12 digs, and 5 aces, upsetting the #1 ranked team in the Division, Living Word Lutheran, on October 31st. Ava then posted 27 kills against the #3 ranked team in the division, Heritage Christian, on November 2nd. Her strong 6 rotation play, including her back row kills, and leadership, helped seal Manitowoc Lutheran’s shot at a State Championship.

We have to start with Ava who had an absolutely phenomenal state run, ending with a kill to the deep corner to seal the state championship title for her team in the 5th set. Over the two matches at state, she had 57 kills. Ava was explosive, reliable, and impactful in nearly every play. She was focused and had her eyes on the prize – a huge leader on her team and only a sophomore.

Ava is absolutely electric to watch on the court. She is a high-flying energizer and a natural leader on the court. She knows how to use every set to her advantage and is incredibly fast. Ava has awesome court awareness and mixes up her shots well. She is a go-to hitter on her team and always finds a way to manufacture points.
