Averie Gidge Averie Gidge 6'1" | OH/RS Sierra Vista | 2029 NV has crossed the 500-kill mark while establishing herself as one of Nevada’s most productive young attackers. The 6-foot-1 sophomore recorded 332 kills as a freshman and had added 160 more through September 18, putting her at 492 before her latest matches pushed her across the milestone. Gidge also competes for Vegas Aces, where her team earned a bid to Nationals this past spring. She is producing 3.9 kills per set this season and hitting .259, showing that her growing career total is being paired with improved efficiency. No doubt she will hit the 1k kill-mark early senior season or possibly end of junior year.

Gidge has been a major offensive force for Sierra Vista with 144 kills, 4.1 kills per set and a .288 hitting efficiency. Her production stands out even more considering she is only a sophomore. She gives the Mountain Lions a go-to scoring option and will be one of the younger Nevada attackers worth following throughout the weekend.

Averie is excited for the opportunity Summer NIT provides as her team prepares for the final stretch of the club season. She views the event as both a valuable exposure opportunity and an important step toward nationals. Averie tells PrepDig Nevada,

“We are all very grateful and excited to attend our 2nd NIT tournament this year and can’t wait to play to our best abilities.”

When her team takes the court, coaches and spectators can expect plenty of energy, celebration, and passion, fueled by the strong chemistry that has helped bring the group together throughout the season.

“My personal goal for NIT Summer is to play to my best abilities under pressure to do my part to help my team succeed. I hope to show my coaches, college coaches, as well as fans that i am a team player and hardworking.”

Averie OH/RS plays for Vegas Aces 15 REN. Good luck this weekend Averie!
