Avery Johns keeps things pretty simple.

She is a strong student carrying a 4.0 GPA, a multi-sport athlete who also competes in basketball, and someone who values environments where high expectations exist both academically and athletically.

When describing her ideal college fit, Avery immediately pointed to academics, competitive athletics, and good people. That answer reflects a mature understanding of what many successful student-athletes eventually discover: finding the right culture can be just as important as finding the right volleyball program. She appears to be looking for a place that will challenge her in the classroom, support her development as an athlete, and surround her with people who share those same standards.
