Avery gives Mount Paran steady offensive direction from the setter position. She shows good hands, keeps a consistent release and does a nice job allowing different attackers to remain involved. Her tempo helps the Eagles play with rhythm, and she demonstrates the court awareness to adjust when first contact moves her away from the net.

She also brings useful leadership through her decision-making. Kohler rarely needs to make the position look complicated to be effective. She keeps the offense organized, communicates clearly and continues to show confidence distributing in important moments. As her ability to manipulate opposing middles continues to develop, her size and offensive command make her an increasingly interesting setter prospect. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga

Avery Kohler had one of the busiest setting weekends in the state. She posted 22 assists, three digs and a solo block against Coahulla Creek, then 19 assists, five digs and two aces against South Aiken. Later, in Mount Paran’s three-set win over Midtown, Avery delivered 33 assists and seven digs.

Avery had to manage different types of matches without much time between them. Sweeps demand efficiency; a tight three-setter demands patience. What I like is how her assist volume rose when Mount Paran needed more offense against Midtown. She stayed involved defensively too, which makes the setting work even more impressive over a long tournament day. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga

Avery brings strong energy and does a good job staying active across rotations. She works to adjust to different tempos and contribute offensively. Her effort helps keep the offense balanced. Avery supports consistent right-side production. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga
