Benita Anyanwu Benita Anyanwu 5'11" | MB Linn-Mar Highschool | 2027 State IA has done a phenomenal job showcasing her speed and athleticism at the net this season. Anyanwu has proven to be one of the stronger middles in the Iowa City area. Benita has been a very strong piece of Linn-Mar’s lineup since her sophomore year. The junior makes her presence known no matter where she is on the court. With Linn-Mar graduating 9 seniors, I think this will be the year we hear a lot more about Anyanwu.

A starter as a sophomore on the Lion varsity this past season, Anyanwu’s 62.0 blocks paced the team. She also contributed 66 kills during her time in the rotation. Anyanwu has raised her level of play even more during this club campaign. Those improvements were apparent during her performance at the LOVB Midwest Recruiting Showcase in June. Not the tallest middle hitter, Anyanwu succeeds with explosiveness, leaping ability, timing and technique. They aid her whether she’s swinging or putting up a block. Anyanwu’s stock is rising, and a big junior season would keep the arrow pointing up.
