About Bergan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Intense and scrappy describe my gameplay style. My best attribute is my quickness and reaction time. I like a fast-paced game to keep me on my toes and challenge me. I am constantly talking whether I’m on defense or offense and I like to get into the other team’s heads. If I see an open spot I will send the ball over on a free for a first ball kill. I like to keep the other team on their feet.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality is intense, energetic and a little crazy. I am big on high fives and getting hype after big plays for all my teammates. My mentality is if I shank a ball - dish it right back to me because the next one will be a perfect pass. I am a leader on the team and the first to pick up a player with positive feedback. I am known to be the first person at the gym and the last to leave.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Being from a small town I am able to be involved in many activities. I am a member of our Youth Church group. I am a member of our Future Farmers of America chapter in my high school and was selected as an officer as a Freshman. I received a high score in science on state MAPS academic testing. I am also a member of our Journalism group and Future Business Leaders of America.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Throughout the years I’ve developed leadership skills. My parents have raised me to be a leader instilling traits of work ethic, humility and determination. I was a varsity starter as a freshman and this has also added to leadership. Being from a small town, community service is just part of living in a small town. Our school, and church youth group, focus on community service and giving back.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college which will fit my goal of playing college volleyball and also offer a program for the field of study I am pursuing. Currently my desire is to be an OBGYN and study Pre-Medicine. I’m hoping I will know the right school when I find it.
