Blake has been on the Prep Dig radar since she was a frosh playing right side for Atlee. Her hitting and six rotation play are so impressive that both her high school team and club team have moved her to the left side to take advantage of her six rotation skills. Teams running a 6/2 normally substitute for the right side when they bring in their setters.

She lists only 5’9″ but her jump and arm extension allows her to rifle balls to all areas of the court. Atlee reached the Class 4 state bracket last year but lost in the first round to Grafton. Blake earned a Class 4 first team All State honors. She has committed to Loyola Maryland.

They also have some talent at the lower level with sophomore setter Allece Anderson Allece Anderson 5'7" | S Atlee | 2029 State VA and sophomore outside Sophia Childress Sophia Childress 5'11" | OH Atlee | 2029 State VA players worthy to watch.

The player that has been getting most of the attention on this team lately is Alexis VerMeer Alexis VerMeer 6'1" | OH/RS Lancaster | 2028 State VA , don’t get me wrong, she deserves it, but when I first saw this group it was last year when they were all playing up at NEQ, and Blake stood out to me as a future star.

We don’t get to see enough of the Old Dominion region up near us, but this Richmond team got on my radar in a big way. In warm ups it was clear these girls were different, and through the match you could see they had “it” and could slug it out with some of the most talented in the Chesapeake Region.

Blake is a legit pin in her own right, she’s at the top of that “tweener” height, but it doesn’t show in her game, she’s got plenty of vertical to block and hit, and she can hit line or cross with equal precision. She’s a weapon teams need to pay attention to, and the other teams in 16 Open learned that the hard way.
