About Brooklynn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as very competitive and leadership like. I tend to always be the loudest on the court or on the bench, always supporting and leading my team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Again, I am a very competitive player and I am always wanting to win those big and hard games. I go after everything and sacrifice my body for every point. For the most part I pride myself on my mental toughness and a growth mindset

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received many academic awards through out my life. Maintaining a 4.556 GPA going into my Senior Year and retaining all As the whole time in all honors and AP classes I take pride in my grades. I am in the top 15% of my class and ranked 13 out of over 400 students.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have really developed my leadership and teamwork skills and being named captain for my Junior high school season really made me step it up and take charge in ways I hadn’t before.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced many challenges, the main one being mental after experiencing some negative coaching experiences. This really hurt my mental toughness and made me really doubt myself and my ability. But I was able to overcome this by realizing that it is no one else’s fault for how I play but mine, and once I took this accountability I realized the only way to fix things was to play the best I could.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that plays competitive volleyball and has a good team culture. In addition I would also like the school to have great academics as well so I could continue my academic journey. More specifically I would hope for a physical therapy pathway so I could pursue my dreams. Other than that, there are not many other factors that are that important to me.

Equally important to her has been the mental side of the game, learning to bounce back quickly from mistakes. Brooklynn explained, “Focusing on my mental toughness will really boost my importance as a college prospect.” Her coaches and teammates describe her as highly competitive with a winning mentality. Beyond volleyball, she is equally committed to her academics, holding a 4.56 GPA and ranking 13th out of more than 400 students.
