embraces leadership both on and off the court. She takes responsibility for keeping her team together and focused. She has made serve receive a top priority, understanding how critical it is for outsides to execute that skill consistently at the college level. Equally important to her has been the mental side of the game, learning to bounce back quickly from mistakes. Brooklynn explained, “Focusing on my mental toughness will really boost my importance as a college prospect.” Her coaches and teammates describe her as highly competitive with a winning mentality. Beyond volleyball, she is equally committed to her academics, holding a 4.56 GPA and ranking 13th out of more than 400 students. Her long-term goal is to become a physical therapist. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

, and I am a 15 year old outside hitter/ DS on the 16-1 elite travel team at ECVBA in California. I have chosen to participate in the Prep Dig Pre-Tournament showcase for many reasons, but the main one is to display my abilities and to grab attention. Even so, I am also participating because it is an excellent opportunity to get extra beneficial touches before Nationals.
A little bit about me: I am a hard worker on and off the court and I am ambitious and aspire to do many great things in my life. Starting with playing in college and becoming a Physical therapist so I can continue to fuel my love of sports by helping other athletes stay healthy to achieve their dreams. As a player, I am undersized in my position, but that has never stopped me from putting in the work and constantly working on my skills in other positions to be a more versatile player. I am a team player who continuously supports those I am playing around with, and I celebrate other’s successes as if they are my own. Although, I am not afraid to take charge and lead a team to victory by example of good sportsmanship and a positive mindset. In addition to making sure my mind stays healthy in my mental game, I always strive to be the most competitive and determined player on the court at all times. I will always take opportunities to be aggressive at the net while also playing smart and using my IQ.
In addition, I am one to go for everything in the back row; if it takes me jumping into the bleachers to make a save, that is what I’ll do. Even if I doubt I can get a ball, I will still put in 100% effort to keep that ball off of the ground. And as much as I take the sport seriously, I also take academics very seriously and challenge myself daily. My work paid off as I finished my freshman year with honors and maintained all A’s. This year, as a sophomore, I have taken two honors and one AP class. I finished with all A’s my first semester, giving me a 4.5 weighted GPA and 4.0 unweighted. And approaching the end of the year I finished this semester with all A’s too. Overall I am a highly competitive athlete who works harder than most and strives to be the best I can in all aspects.
