About Brooklynn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Dynamic, motivational, and vocal six rotation player with five years of experience contributing successfully in multiple competitive sports. As a Middle & Outside, I play crucial role in both offensive and defensive plays, focusing on quick attacks as well as aggressive blocking. I would best characterize my playing style as "relentless." I do not take plays off.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am true to myself on and off the court, including team leadership and sportsmanship. I truly relish seeing my teammates succeed and contribute to our team's success. I have a proven ability to foster teamwork, enhance performance through strategic planning, and cultivate a positive team culture. I am also fully committed to maintaining peak physical performance.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been involved in multiple athletic clubs as well as FIRST Robotics, Band, Choir, and Student Council. I have received a non-sport awards such as National Honor Society, Outstanding Achievement, and a Perfect Attendance throughout my school career.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have modeled my leadership skills from my father. I studied how he leads and realized there is carry-over from one field to another in the general principles of leadership. I put the team before myself always, I would rather play terrible and win, than the other way around. I am very active in my community, as I achieve 30 hours of service each year in between multiple club and school sports.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've faced my share of personal and emotional challenges. I've not made teams that I've tried out for, I've had to switch positions and learn everything over, I've been frustrated over playing time, I've even let my teammates down, but there has never been anything that I couldn't pick myself from and get back to work. I like to say "Good" when things go wrong. It's my way of saying "bring it on!"

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for an extended home, somewhere I am happy and can be myself. Its important to me that I choose the school that I can see myself at even if I get injured and am unable to play volleyball (the broken leg test.) I have not decided on a course study at this time, but I do require being continuously challenged.

Even as I hone in on Nebraska neighbors, I always look for Iowa Rockets on the midwestern qualifier circuit. Kelley brings all the traits that have made Iowa Rockets successful in the always-competitive Midwest club scene. She’s a crafty attacker who has harnessed her experience as a pin hitter and a middle blocker. Quick tempos are no problem for Kelley, who can get on top of the ball quickly and read which gaps and seams are available. Midwest Live is piling on the pins.
