Kelley has made a ton of progress during the last year. She did so while working hard waiting her turn with the Pleasant Valley varsity, which will come this fall, and on the club circuit. Kelley is high up in the list of 2025 prep breakouts. Not the tallest middle in the mix, she succeeds with a big vertical leap, long arms, technique and timing. Kelley extracts a lot of power from her operation with a keen sense for reading the opposing block. She also tracks the opposite attack well, flows with the play and throws up a strong block. Kelley has upside, too, with a frame that can add strength and power.

‘s athleticism is dangerous. She is so quick to get up and swing big. The 2028 middle blocker who preps out of Pleasant Valley was able to have a big performance in her home area on Saturday. She is able to run a quick tempo in front of the setter or was extremely terminal on the slide where her one foot takeoff really allowed her to sky and find the floor. She is a really tricky matchup for the other side of the net with how dynamic she is.

Iowa PowerPlex’s 2028 depth was apparent through its 1-2 sweep in the Clash’s 16 division. Kelley was a lethal gap attacker for 16U Chapman and could run a diverse route tree in the front row. She boasts a large attacking window that makes her a setter’s best friend in in-system situations. Her development is just getting started.

Even as I hone in on Nebraska neighbors, I always look for Iowa Rockets on the midwestern qualifier circuit. Kelley brings all the traits that have made Iowa Rockets successful in the always-competitive Midwest club scene. She’s a crafty attacker who has harnessed her experience as a pin hitter and a middle blocker. Quick tempos are no problem for Kelley, who can get on top of the ball quickly and read which gaps and seams are available. Midwest Live is piling on the pins.

I have seen Kelley play a couple of times this year with her 15-1 Rockets team. I didn’t realize that she played up on the 16 red team from time to time. Regardless, I thought she did a good job helping her team make it all the way through the good bracket and win the championship. Attacking from the right side, Kelley was a steady pin that put down numerous shots. She altered between hitting hard cross shots, to off speed, to banging it off blockers hands. Kelley will be one to keep tabs on as she continues to grow and develop her game.
