Cadence Hawk plays loud, in the best sense of the word. Cheering for teammates, communicating on every play, and hustling regardless of the score are the habits she leans on most, and this season she’s paired that energy with real technical growth, setting the ball farther and higher and attacking with more power without being afraid to miss.
She actually had two moments at camp worth being proud of, and each one says something different about her game. One came on defense, taking a hard-driven ball off an opponent’s swing and passing it perfectly to target. The other came on offense, scoring repeatedly by hitting to the back corner during scrimmages. Together they point to an athlete who’s dangerous in more than one phase of the game. Her read on the camp competition was straightforward: there are a lot of great players out there, which means the standard for effort has to keep climbing. She’s heading into her final year of middle school volleyball wanting to keep building her hitting while learning more about rotations, the kind of detail-level growth that turns an athlete who competes hard into one who plays smart.
