About Callie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A floor leader with high-energy and quick reactions. I emphasize precision passing in all my training.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I describe myself as energetic, positive, competitive, and motivated. I try to lead by example, and I feel that one of my best traits is that I can motivate others on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I do a lot of volunteering through my school and work at a special needs speech clinic in the summer.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think leadership is an ongoing journey. A lot of my leadership skills have come from my time on the court growing up - through volleyball, basketball, and other team events. My parents have told me that ever since I was a really young girl, I could always feel the emotions of others even when they don't come out and say it. This has helped me a ton on the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Not anything significant, outside of the normal challenges of being a student athlete. I have grown up with a lot of siblings and a very big and supportive family.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking at Division I schools at this time, as my top choices. I am mainly looking at their volleyball program, coaching staff, and culture. I want to fit in with a campus - in volleyball, education, and socially.

At Roncalli, there are a never-ending number of defensive specialists on every roster every year. To set yourself apart from the others, let alone the other DS’s from around the state in your class, is a feat unto itself. Callie is a work-a-holic that does well when allowed to take over serve receive. She’s like a second coach on the floor, and has that knack to run things defensively—-something you might not see out of a SENIOR libero, let alone a freshman.
