Cam Serna Cam Serna 5'6" | S/DS/L Antonian College Preparatory | 2027 TX , a Class of 2027 setter from Antonian College Preparatory in San Antonio and San Antonio Juniors Volleyball Club, is the starting setter on a TAPPS Class 6A State Championship program and brings an energy and competitive presence to the position that goes well beyond what the physical measurements suggest. At 5’6″ she has made a deliberate mission out of proving that size does not define what a setter can do at the next level, and the way she plays backs that up every time she steps on the court. Her touch on the ball is clean and consistent, and she delivers with a release and tempo that gives her hitters the timing information they need rather than forcing them to adjust on every approach. She plays fast by nature, pushing the pace and keeping defenses uncomfortable rather than settling into a rhythm they can read and prepare for. The confidence she plays with is infectious, and there is a command to how she runs the offense that makes the players around her perform at a higher level because of her presence. Cam is a watch list setter who has already won at the highest level of Texas private school volleyball and brings a championship mentality to go along with a skill set that college programs at every level should be evaluating now.

Miss Serna is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our official Watch List.  She plays for Antonian College Prep High School and also plays for the San Antonio Juniors volleyball club.  This young lady is no stranger to us at Prep Dig as she has won this award at our Showcase at USAV Junior Nationals this past summer as well.  I was excited to see how she has progressed since then and we all definitely saw tons of growth over the high school season. Blessed with a “never give up” attitude, she always is willing and ready to battle and go all out, even if that means sacrificing her body in order to save the ball from hitting the floor.  She is a hard worker on and off the court and you can see her heart in everything she does.  We love players like this at Prep Dig and think all young kids can look up to them as they can learn a lot from great role models like Cam.  The way that she plays defense tells any college coach that they have a second libero on the court in the right back zone.  Her hands are super soft as she contact the ball and delivers it to her attackers.  I also like how she is always using her jump set in every situation and not just when the pass is perfect.  That kind of athleticism tells me that she understands how it can hold blockers and create some splits for her pin hitters.  Give this young lady a look and you will see the potential as we do.  Please help us congratulate her on earning another Top Performer award for this showcase.
