Owens brings it each and every night for the Defenders. When they need a kill, Owens continually produces different ways to put balls down. She had a lot of success off tandems in this game. Owens even smokes balls from the back row. She delivers hard serves and is a sound passer. Owens did track down some corner shots in the loss.

Cameron brings her A game to the court, she is relentless at the net, and her opponents know it! Cameron uses her solid stature to deliver kills repeatedly, her setter feeds her the ball often, and for good reason! She has a powerful swing that she can place anywhere on the court from either pin effectively, and she doesn’t back off. She is intimidating to blockers and makes that back row back up anticipating the oncoming explosive hit, she adjust herself easily on the court to make those kills and has no problem getting up for a joust or a stealthy tip and her block is solid and performed with excellent timing. Her swings from the back row are lethal and hit the corners deep, showing her strength and power! She communicates on the court and supports her teammates well. She is all that you want in a player and more!

Cameron is a powerhouse, she is imposing, strong, confident and smart! She is a weapon that has refined her skills on the court that are plenty. She has an incredible powerful swing that gets past the block, she can deliver deep into the corners from either pin with excellent contact. She can hit from anywhere on the court, her back row hit is lethal. She has a solid block with good timing, digs heartily getting the ball into play from the back row and serves up aces. She tips down the line or creates campfires galore, she is smart and has excellent court IQ! She brings her game, and it shows! We know we would want to play with her, not against her!

Owens has continued to improve her accuracy throughout the club season. Owens has always done a great job taking solid approaches to balls and sending them sizzling to the floor. What has improved dramatically during the club season is that hard jump serve. She kept opponents out of rhythm a good bit in the Red 17s win over the Arizona Storm 17 Lightning on Saturday. Opponents have to cover the entire floor against Owen because she does mix in soft hits. Owens also had a number of sound blocks and digs in that win and the team’s other win over the Top Select 17 Elite squad.

Owens rose up 11 spots because she has proven to be one of the top hitters in the state. Owens will only continue to grow into a solid all-around player with another season playing for the KiVA 17 red squad, which expects to compete for national championships. Owens digs up balls then quickly transitions to offense putting immense power into balls. She puts forth a sound effort on every play trying to help her teams to wins. Owens forms sound double blocks and consistently lands her serves. Owens pounded out 467 kills to go with 264 digs, 50 aces and 32 assisted blocks for Bryan Station this past fall.

Owens (pictured) is as tough as anyone in the state when she generates a lot of power into balls. Defenders have to be in the right position or they are tough to dig up. Owens is trying to become a solid all-around player also putting forth solid effort on defense. Owens also has incredible timing on her blocks and is a consistent server. Owens had 467 kills, 32 assisted blocks, 264 digs and 50 aces for the Defenders this past fall.

One can tell Owens has put a lot of time into her form because balls go flying to the ground off her hands from any spot near the net. She goes up high and finishes strong. Owens also uses her size to time up blocks. Owens continuously makes plays happen when the Defenders go out of system.

Owens is constantly in control of the net with her consistency on the attacks and working with middle blockers to put up solid double blocks. She adds versatility with her ability to deliver a number of ways. Owens had 436 kills, 202 digs, 48 aces and 26 assisted blocks leading Bryan Station to a 19-16 record last fall.
