Capece has thrived while making her full-time transition from outside hitter to libero. She exploded onto the scene during her underclassman years at Omaha Marian, and some of those highlights came along the net at the left pin. However, Capece suited up for Premier Nebraska 16 Gold this spring and locked down the contrasting jersey with tremendous results. Her stellar passing and relentless floor defense helped 16 Gold secure an Open bid, and the grind hasn’t stopped there. Omaha Marian has ascended the Class A ladder with Capece handling first contacts around the dial.

Expect Capece to add to her ever-diversifying scouting report. The Omaha Marian junior is building off an outstanding club campaign as Premier Nebraska 16 Gold’s libero. She commanded the team’s serve-receive pattern and helped lift the team to an Open bid through the Show Me Qualifier. However, we might see an entirely different side of Capece when she suits up for this weekend’s invite. This all-around gem is also an effective outside hitter who was second on the Crusader roster in kills per set last year. We’ll see a little of everything from Capece this season.

Capece’s development has been a can’t-miss storyline among Nebraska’s top 2027s. Last fall was a display of her six-rotation dominance as a starting outside hitter with Omaha Marian. This versatile star shifted to Premier Nebraska 16 Gold’s lineup and proved herself against the nation’s most physical hitters. The libero role has allowed Capece to flourish–even if she’ll rotate back into the front row this fall.

Omaha Marian’s strong 2024 season was anchored by the six-rotation excellence of its outside hitters. Capece was part of that operation and put up 2.4 kills per set in her sophomore season with the Crusaders. Aside from Capece’s terminal ability in the frontcourt, she was also a consistent defender and even better as a primary passer. Marian’s quick, precise offense relied on good first contacts, and this sophomore outside hitter always delivered. Capece is now climbing the ladder with Premier Nebraska and will hone her skills at the Open level.
