Lucero brings serious speed to the outside. Her arm is quick, clean, and explosive. When she gets a good look at the court, she can snap the ball down in a hurry. That speed leaves defenders very little time to react. She also has plenty of power behind the swing. Give Lucero an open spot, and she can turn it into a big offensive play. For a young outside, that combination is exciting. Lucero is continuing to develop her attack, and her ability to put pressure on defenses makes her a name worth watching.

Lucero stepped up with 12 kills while hitting .381 on the night for University. The sophomore brought plenty of production and showed that she is ready to take on a bigger role. Starting the season with that kind of efficiency is a great sign, and Lucero will be another player to watch as the year moves forward.
