Let’s complete the setter trinity to close out this feature. Kvols has had a permanent spot near the top of Nebraska’s assists chart, and it finally translated to a tournament appearance this fall. The Bears were not afraid to rally around Kvols during her freshman season. That experience has translated to pinpoint setting and exquisite tempo to L-C-C’s diverse cast of attackers. Kvols logged 47 assists in the team’s quarterfinal upset over Norfolk Catholic, and the ascent continued with a sweep over Oakland-Craig. Another year in the spotlight beckons.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge’s tournament breakthrough was a few years in the making–especially after Kvols took the reins of the offense as a freshman. Now, in her junior campaign, Kvols is dishing out new milestones for the Bears with a 3-1 quarterfinal win over Norfolk Catholic. The junior setter put out almost 12 assists per set on Thursday night, adding to one of Nebraska’s best setting averages. Kvols will keep adding to the ledger in the semifinals.

We’re getting used to seeing Kvols atop Nebraska’s statistical leaderboards. She followed up her 8.7 assist-per-set freshman campaign by putting up nearly ten assists per set in her second season with Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. The Bears have seen this tremendous production translate to the win column, as the team amassed an impressive 28-5 record last fall.
