About Carly

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an aggressive hitter who is always in attack mode, no matter where I’m asked to play. I love to play up tempo, put up big blocks, and make plays for my teammates. I’m just as happy making a great pass as I am ripping a ball down the line for a point, or floating a serve for an ace.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a listener, observer, and sometimes on the more quiet side at times. I love to be surrounded by my friends and family. As I’m getting older I’m learning to become more outspoken, and developing that leadership quality has been important for me on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve grown up learning the importance of community service, and what impact I can have by focusing on others. I believe it’s something that will always be a piece of who I am. As a teammate, being able to be versatile and plugged into any situation asked of me is what I want to be known for. Whatever the team needs to be successful.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In terms of volleyball, I think the biggest challenge was starting as a freshman at OH, and then moving to mainly MB on my Club team, and then getting some play as a RS. All of these positions require different approaches/angles and I just accepted the challenge and worked hard at being successful no matter where I’m needed.

What type of college are you looking for?

Somewhere where I’ll feel like I’m part of a family. A place where I can get a world class education, be challenged, and compete with like minded people.
