This 6’2 middle stepped up in a big way for Northern Lights this past club season and she could make in impact at Butler early on. Slusser has a nose for the ball as a blocker and gets a natural read on attackers. Offensively her court vision and play execution have improved to make her a weapon on both sides of the ball.

I caught Slusser in Chicago for Nationals and her ability to read and and be on top the fast tempo attacks as a block was impressive. She doesn’t shy away from using the opposing block’s hands or getting off the ground quickly and being in the air ready to swing. As a setter, you love to know your middle is ready for you to put the ball in her hands. She exposes a lot of blocking issues as well as exposes the opposing team’s defensive flaws with a well-placed roll shot.

Slusser can terminate from anywhere on the net. She takes a big swing from the pins and she reaches high and slices the ball down the net or works angles off the block. Slusser has a high reach and can go over the block or use the edges.
