Playing for one of the better small school programs in the state, Caya spent her time last club season split between being a three-rotation DS and the libero for Boiler Juniors’ 17-2 squad. Equally adept in left back and middle back, her ability to change directions, read and react to off-speed shots and receive serve from any of the three lanes makes her indispensable on any team. Her willingness to hit the floor and do the dirty work necessary to keep the ball alive is easy to see, all with the readiness for the next play.

Rarely—and I mean rarely—do I mention defensive specialists at the club level. The reasoning? There are so many, and they’re practically all interchangeable. Not so for Caya. The libero for one of the top 1A schools in the state, Miss Stillings is a quick-footed and smart libero who can play any of the back row positions on request. She’s more known for her left-back prowess, and covers a ton of ground on both coverage and pursuit balls. Add to the fact that she’s getting defensive training from the folks in West Lafayette, and the rest should speak for itself.
