Caycee Chhum brought a high level of deception and control to her offense. What stood out right away was how well she used her body and eyes to manipulate blockers. She consistently held the middle just long enough before releasing to the outside or right side, creating seams that her hitters were able to take advantage of.

She ran a smooth mix of routes—connecting on quicks in the middle, then stretching the floor with tempo to the pins. Her back sets were especially effective, delivered with consistency and pace. Caycee also showed confidence, incorporating setter dumps at the right moments, keeping defenses honest. Her ability to disguise and deliver made her one of the more difficult setters to read on the day. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Caycee Chhum Caycee Chhum 5'7" | S Georgetown Day | 2027 State VA won the Gatorade Player of the year for DC. She also won the Max Prep player of the year for DC, the Washington Post Metro Player of the year and most importantly the Prep Dig player of the year for DC. She also ranks number eight in our class of 2027. That ranking is the highest for a setter.

Caycee has set Georgetown Day to two consecutive DC championships while running a 5/1. She also set Metro to a second place finish in the USAV Junior Nationals National division while setting a 6/2.

While she has not yet committed, she has been looking at Ivy League colleges. Perhaps this award might gather some interest.

Caycee ranks at number 9 in our class of 2027. With a little more height her ranking would probably go higher. She appeared in our first Prep Dig showcase class at St. James in Virginia. Another player winning a top performer award. Currently she sets for Georgetown Day where she led them to the D.C. State championship. Max Preps voted her the top player in D.C.

Last year Caycee set for Metro 16. They finished second in the Junior Nationals National Division in Dallas. She sets a 5/1 for Georgetown Day and a 6/2 for Metro, coming out in the front row.

While Caycee is not yet committed my suspicions are an Ivy League school is in her sights.
