About Celiana
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my game play style as focused and determined, always keeping my head straight not matter the situation. I make sure to hustle and give my best effort so that every single point counts. I always try to improve with every play, using each point as a chance to do better.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Celebrating plays and rooting for my teammates is at the core of how I approach the game. When challenges arrive, I stay loud, positive, and energetic to keep the teams energy high. I see volleyball as a mental game where resilience and focus shape success just as much as physical skill. I believe that every mistake is simply a lesson, and the next point is always an opportunity to improve.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in the Hispanic National Honor Society.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
As captain of my high-school volleyball team, I've developed strong leadership and accountability skills, which I value because of the respect and trust shared between my teammates and I. Each year, my teammates and I volunteer at football games by running concessions, which allows us to give back to our community together. These experiences have strengthen my teamwork and commitment.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have faced emotional challenges, especially with learning how to manage my feelings both on and off the court. Overtime, I've grown stronger and learned how to handle those moments in a healthier way, and I'm proud of that progress. This growth matters because it allows me to bring positive energy and motivation for my team instead of focusing only on myself.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for a college that is close to home so I can stay connected to my family, especially my mother. I value being part of a diverse and supportive environment, which is why I am drawn to Hispanic- Serving Institutions that celebrate culture and community. Academically, I want a school with strong business programs where I can pursue my interest for marketing and gain real world experience.
