About Charlotte

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My play style consists of getting my feet under the ball, I also know I excel in passing as I used to be a DS which has benefited me in defense/passing. I know I have a strong serve which allows my coaches to depend on me during close matches. My strongest feature is my energy, I also try to have the best energy and keep my team motivated. I try to be the loudest on the court and uplift my team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

In volleyball, if I make a mistake I like to just shake off my mistake, think on it but I don’t let it affect the next point. If I keep making the same mistake in game, then I will focus on it more but I won’t let it get me down because mistakes can happen. I also play with a very lose play style and even in high stress situations I like to keep my mind calm so my body is calm as well.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

During high school, I was in student council for two years, I also am in multiple AP’s this year which I feel has helped me develop and manage my time better and push me to be the best. I also joined American Sign Language Club this year and it has allowed me to connect with many new people. As well as Pickleball club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was in student council for two years, I feel like this has developed my leadership in many ways. We would do community services, help our student body, etc. I also helped lead a special education olympics where Iwas able to lead. I also believe I am a leader on the court because of my position, as well as my passion, which allows me to not let my team get in their head and to uplift them.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I started playing volleyball at a later age, but I haven’t let that affect me and I feel like my work and progress i’ve made every season has shown that I am a fast learner and how I am capable of playing at a high level despite this “challenge.” I also don’t consider this a challenge but as an advantage as it has pushed me to become the player I am today and to stay disciplined with my goals.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that can cater to my goals for my future but also focusing on volleyball. I want to be a physical therapist/athletic trainer so I want to be able to play volleyball and develop a competitive, but family like bond with teamates and coaches while still remaining focused on my future.
