About Chesney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

In my gameplay I am very passionate. I bring energy and fun to the court while still remaining focused on the end goal.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very strong minded person. I do a good job of staying positive and making sure to lift up my teammates even through rough games. I am a funny, kind, and determined person and pride myself on being a good person on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer for my church as well as give volleyball lessons for the youth in my city. I am also heavily focused on my academics. I am a part of national honor society and volunteer many times a year with this program.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Starting my sophomore year, my teammates and coach have voted me to be team caption. This motivated me to become the best leader I could. I learned how to balance off the court friendships with on the court teammates and worked to bring everyone together in both areas of our lives.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

With my coaches of 5 years moving away and leaving my teammates and I with no club team or school coach, I had to move to a different club in order to progress my skills. Now, my family and I drive 4 hours twice a week in order for me to play with Houston Skyline .

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that will push me on and off the court. I want to be set up for success in the classroom as well as in the gym. I want the team to feel like a family and the school to feel like a home.
