About Claire

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to switch up the sets I ask for as well as shots I make, keeping the other team moving. I try my best to be mindful of where the block is as well as spots that are open on the other side. At the net, I’m careful to read the setter so I’m able to put up a large block. I love to be loud with every play on both sides of the net, communicating what is needed to my teammates!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Lifting up my teammates, staying positive, and shaking off mistakes are the most important things to me. I let my mistakes drive me to get the next point/make the next big play. Talking with my teammates off the court allows me to understand how they best take feedback and communicate with them most effectively when it comes to gameplay.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in National Honor Society, Key Club, HOSA, and yearbook through Kaukauna High School. I have and will continue to make the honor roll through my high school career.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Though I think this question is relative, in my early years of club, I found myself deterred by the fact that I was always the second option. In the end, I believe that this obstacle is what pushed me to put in more and more work every day, shaping me into the athlete I am today.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like a college that will support my academic journey just as much as my athletic.

Claire Gerrits Claire Gerrits Claire Gerrits 6'0" | RS Kaukauna | 2026 State WI had a breakout season this past fall for Kaukauna.  The Class of 2026 right side will be looked at to be a key player for Blaze 17 Black who will be a national squad this season.  The length that Gerrits provides is a great combination for a right side because she can reach over and take away plenty of angles of an opposing outside, and can always hit high and can score points.  She had nearly 200 kills and over 30 blocks this season with some key performances during the post season for Kaukauna.

Claire showed off her athleticism at the Expo. She was high-flying and had a high contact on the ball. Even when the set wasn’t perfect, she was able to connect and make a play. Claire mixed up her shots well and could execute consistently both in and out of system. She is a player with a very high ceiling who could really impress at the next level.
