How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
In a game setting I have intensity, hustle, and energy. I’m not going to let anything drop without effort, I want to win, and I get excited for my teammates.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am the type of person who never gives up. The ball could be beyond hope of getting up, yet I’m am going to try my hardest to get there, and a lot of time it pays off. I’m not going to let off the gas just because we lost a few points or are in the lead. I believe that as a setter it is my job to put up a ball that my hitters are able to get a kill off of. It is my responsibility to run the court
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I was voted onto my high school’s student senate and I was voted Treasurer for Green Club. I took part in a club called Boomerang where we go into fourth grade classrooms and teach them about things like honesty and teamwork.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through life, but especially volleyball, I have developed many important qualities. The two most important are leadership and hard work. Without hard work, you can’t get anywhere. Hard work will improve your skills and actually get you places in life. Leadership has many different forms, but I think my leadership is verbal and physical. I encourage, support, organize, and motivate.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
This last club season I was taken as an attacker instead of a setter. I chose this club for high quality training. My coach said that if I proved myself better than one of the other setters, I could earn my setting spot. I woke up at 5:30 twice a week to go in to set. I lifted every day after school. Every spare second I had was spent setting against the wall. Eventually, I earned my spot!
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a Division 1 or Division 2 college with quality environmental science programs. I want to be a part of a program that is supportive, but intense. I want to be somewhere where I have easy access to the outdoors and I want to be somewhere where I can try new things.
