About Da’Maia
Expert Analysis
Kantessa Bryant-Miller | Prep Dig Scout
Da’Maia is a game-changer at the net. She has great timing on power tips, knows how to tool the block, and makes smart plays to score points. Her connection with her setter is chef’s kiss—they played together in high school and continue to dominate at the net with their strong chemistry and timing. With her skills and court awareness, it’s no surprise that the 4A state runner-up is committed to playing at Livingstone College. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv

Da’Maia has been a blocking machine for Legacy High School. She has been having such an amazing senior season with monster blocks and some great kills. The 6’0” senior had an impressive club season and really turned up the energy in her final season of high school. She is ranked #6 in Nevada for blocks in the state and only five blocks away from earning 60 total blocks for the season. The uncommitted middle also has recorded 124 kills and 43 aces thus far this season.

Damia is one of Legacy High School’s top blockers and is a force to be reckoned with among opponents, especially when the other team attempts to run a play out of the middle. She creates an impenetrable wall and skillfully presses to ensure the ball goes straight down as much as possible. She makes it look effortless, even against some of Nevada’s toughest hitters. Offensively, she has been doing good as well, scoring both aces (43) and kills (107). With her height, skill, and strength, Bryant has the potential to be a valuable asset to a collegiate team.

Damaia excels at delivering powerful swings into her opponents’ deep, open corners and can serve up aces with her impressive float serve. Her ability to anticipate the hitter’s moves translates into more blocks than the average player, or at the very least, disrupts the ball’s trajectory enough for her team to gain a strategic advantage. She epitomizes the essence of a true middle blocker. With her final high school season on the horizon, I anticipate she will continue to dominate the net and be a great asset to a college team.
