About Damice

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Put me on the floor coach, I can play in all areas.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love a challenge and I stay focused. I understand when to encourage my teammates through tough game situations.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer often with the younger schools in my district.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I understand my mental state, body language will either show my team we are ready or will state the opposite. I have learned to encourage, support and be a listening ear to help bring the best out our team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Playing for a high school team which routinely has success in their football and basketball programs and not in their volleyball program. I have made it a goal to be apart of the solution, by displaying how fun a successful volleyball program can be. I do this by helping other students become involved in playing and sharing tips on playing the game.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to attend a college where it feels like home. Where my coaches and teammates are my family.

Damice Burns Damice Burns Damice Burns 5'11" | MB/OH La Vega | 2027 TX , a Class of 2027 middle blocker from La Vega High School in Bellmead and Waco Juniors Volleyball Club, is the kind of player from a smaller market who shows up in a bigger setting and immediately makes people wonder why they had not heard her name sooner. Miss Burns plays with an athleticism and explosiveness at the net that creates real problems for opposing offenses and her willingness to compete on both sides of the ball makes her more than just a one-way front row piece. Her footwork and lateral movement through the system are advanced for her class, and the way she stays engaged and active across all six rotations rather than checking out in the back row tells you the volleyball IQ and the competitive drive are both genuinely present. She has developed her game in an athletic culture at La Vega that has produced state championships across multiple sports and demands a standard of preparation and effort that carries over directly to the volleyball court. Damice is a middle blocker from the Waco market who deserves a much wider recruiting audience and college programs that get out to see her will be glad they made the trip.
