Merrell had a great night at the setter position and contributed to Tompkins’ strong display. Her distribution was always on point and helped the Falcons’ offense to continue running at a good rhythm even in the moments in which their overall game oscillated. Merrell used her middles at the right moments, putting them in a position to capitalize on their height advantage, and fed her pin hitters with excellent sets against the flow. The senior also served very well during the entire match, and many of her team’s scoring runs started with her at the service line.
