The first thing that wowed me with Ella’s play was her out of system setting. It was clean, precise, and bettered the ball for her hitters. Her team was able to terminate and earn points consistently off her sets. The next thing that impressed me was her serve receive. Ella covered a good portion of the court by herself and had a lightning-fast reaction time. She was a well-rounded libero with so much to offer her team.

Bohren is not new to the varsity court, but rather is one of the more experienced veteran players on the Concordia Academy team as she has been in the varsity rotation since 7th grade.  Bohren is at the top of the attacking stats for freshman in Minnesota, leading in not only the number of kills but hitting percentage. To date, she has 170 kills, averaging a whopping 3.5 kills/set.  She has also contributed 32 aces and 130 digs.

Her clean footwork keeps her in rhythm, and she has a knack for finding seams in the block. On top of her attacking, she’s steady on first contact, keeping her team in system and dangerous. A libero during club Ella can easily be a 6-rotation player.
