The sophomore does things at 6’2″ that change what an offense can do structurally, delivering the ball to her hitters from a release point that blockers cannot effectively read and then turning around and providing legitimate attacking firepower from the right side when she rotated to the front row. She did it all throughout this tournament and she did it consistently against the best competition available at the high school level. Doing both at a high level across a field that included eight of the top ten programs in the country reflects a player who is already operating well beyond what her class year would suggest. The class of 2029 has a long road ahead of it and what Enger showed in Las Vegas is only a preview of where this game is going.

Youth isn’t a deterrent when it comes to the ability Ellie displays on the court. Her composure, knowledge, and obvious talent she brings to the floor proves she belongs in front along with any group no matter the range. Athletically, she is gifted and growing, capable of covering the net with her swing and blocking. Fully rounded game to pair with her dynamics as a setter.

Her third-story setting ability allowed her to rely entirely on wrist control, disguising direction, tempo and keeping blockers perpetually late. Without ever releasing early, Enger consistently moved from defensive base to offensive target with time to spare, creating clean windows for hitters to attack in rhythm.

What truly separated Enger was her elite eye sequencing. She processed the set and attacker shifts instantly, turning reads into advantages at the net. Her willingness to attack from the five-foot line gave her expanded court vision, allowing her to exploit block gaps and uncovered space.
