Ridgway caught my attention this summer when I watched her compete at the USAV Nationals in Indianapolis. I wrote about what I saw from the Class of 2030 prospect after the in-person scouting opportunity. She was shining as a right-side, bringing a heavy swing and blocking ability to the big stage. Ridgway had taken a step forward when watching her live again at the Benton Bobcat Invitational in September. The freshman did not look like one, performing beyond her years with promise and poise. Through the first 67 sets of her ninth-grade campaign, Ridgway had piled up 88 kills (.315) and team-high 46.0 blocks working in the middle of the net. The versatility to play there and at the opposite pin in club should have her on the radar of college coaches.

A season that ended with a coveted trip to the USAV Junior Nationals will be one to remember for Adrenaline 14s. The group introduced a roster filled with players we’ll hear about in the high school ranks. Ridgway firmly belonged in that group. She was playing six rotations as an opposite pin. A good athlete with leaping ability, Ridgway provides power on the right side. She adjusts well to the ball and contorts her body in maximizing her swing. With lateral quickness and sharp reflexes, Ridgway defends well in the back row and at the net.
