About Emmie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an aggressive setter with a high volleyball IQ. I am always looking for a way to score and set my teammates up for success. I am creative with my sets, and I am not afraid to attempt a difficult set if it gives my hitters a better chance to score. I am a versatile player who is willing to play at any position where I am needed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a leader and good communicator on the court. I am very joyful and loud. I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. While I am very competitive on the court you will never see me not having fun and smiling with my teammates.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in the National Junior Honors society. I am a member of the service club. We organize fundraisers and charity events for our school and community. I am also the 2022 diocese of Lexington spelling bee winner. I enjoy doing these things because they get me involved with my community and my peers.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a resilient player I celebrate the good plays and shake off the bad ones. I have been captain of my teams for past 3 years. I have mentored and helped train younger athletes. I have volunteered to be a bell ringer during Christmas time for the Salvation Army.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am currently facing my biggest physical and mental challenge. I tore my ACL and Meniscus during my most recent club season. This is very hard because I am not able to do what I love. I am working really hard to get better and come back even stronger.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to play at the highest collegiate level that I can. But I also want to find the right fit to support my academic goals. I want to be on a team with great coaching and team culture.
