The championship showdown between the NL’s 1 and 2 was quite the battle. NL 16-2 won in the end and this was due in large part to the play of Garcia. This quick libero was all over the court, digging balls, making saves, and her block coverage was fantastic. She used not only her quick speed but her reading ability to dominate in the back court.

Garcia is a defender that always seems to be in the right place and the right time. Her serve receive is just as reliable, she has an accurate platform and smooth and quiet feet as she gets into position. Garcia has made big improvements over the last year and I would expect her to continue.

I really enjoyed getting to see Garcia at one of our showcases and I wasn’t surprised to see her having a good club season. She provides such a solid first contact whether in serve receive or defense. I like how she controls the hard driven ball as well as takes care of the deep corners. Some defenders give up on the ball once it hits the tape but she sticks with it and still holds her platform for the perfect pass.

Garcia was not only talking a lot but her communication was positive and effective. She has some seriously quick reactions and ability to read the other side of the net. Garcia was seen encouraging other players and strategizing during play.
