About Esther

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style as a setter is dynamic and strategic. I focus on quick decision making , precise ball placement, and creating opportunities for my hitters to excel.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a competitive and driven individual with a positive attitude. I thrive under pressure, stay composed, and always strive to lead by example.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am involved in National Charity League where I get a presidents award for completing over a 100 hours of volunteer work every year. I also help out at my church by watching after the kids while their parents attend the church service. I also belong to a church youth group called the River.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership and communication qualities by being apart of volleyball. I have learned to be a leader by pumping my team up when we are feeling down, and trying to set a good example for everyone on my team. I have learned how to communicate better by not being afraid to ask my coach’s how I could improve and using encouraging words with my teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I have faced and still am facing would be being an undersized setter, this means that I have to work harder than anyone else on my team to get playing time. But also this has shown me what hard work is and how much passion you have to have to become better.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college with a strong volleyball program where I can continue to develop my skills as a setter and improve at the same time.
