About Finley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

fast, agile, controlled, loud

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Upbeat and hyper - usually the loudest one on the court and sometimes I lose my voice after tournaments.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

KC Power - libero on the 14's. I had 75 digs in in two days. If there is a ball that needs to be saved I'll be the one who will sacrifice my body to get it.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I grew up playing soccer and volleyball and decided to play only volleyball my 8th grade year of school because I really want to play in college. I noticed I was dreading soccer practices and all I was doing was practicing volleyball at home. Any video I watched I would try to mimic at home hoping to make my skill work improve. As a team, we do a lot of volunteer work to raise funds tournaments

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

it is very hard to be seen at volleyball tryouts. I work really hard and I want the top team offers and I'm almost there...at first it hurt my feelings and I didnt understand why I wasnt getting the top offers. I asked some coaches and they gave me great advice to work on my serve receive and better ball control when passing. I am working every day to improve and I will get that top offer!

What type of college are you looking for?

D1 or D2. I would like to be able to play but even if I'm a practice player in college I will be so excited. I want to play this sport for as long as I can. Ive met so many friends through this sport and I would like to keep learning in this sport. I would love to start my own volleyball club one day or may be coach at the high school or college level.
