The pin hitter from Eastlake has been playing her best ball as the season wears on. Back-to-back double-doubles against Mt. Si and Skyline helped the Wolves to two 3-1 victories. Johnson is long and athletic and has played gritty defense as a six-rotation pin for Eastlake. The senior has continued to improve her ability to put a solid swing on a challenging set, dropping her errors and putting pressure on defenders to make a play.

The Eastlake 2025 prospect knows how to work the line and bang the ball hard off the block. Johnson has excellent length at 6’1″ and has no fear of finding and attacking high hands to generate points. Her growth this club season in serve receive was impressive, as she worked hard to angle her platform and send dimes to her setters. Johnson has great potential as an athletic and long six-rotation outside.

Johnson continues to work hard for Sudden Impact VBC 17 and is the #23 overall ranked player in the class. At a solid 6’0″, she has the requisite length to score on the pin and has been extremely comfortable working down the line and hard off hands this club season. Johnson is handling tough serves as a passer, showing the ability to center line a ball or angle her platform to take care of the high floats with pace. Her own float serve is “flean” to use the term coined in the USA gym by Karch Kiraly. Flat over the net- clearing with little arc, and clean with nearly no spin. The Eastlake junior knows how to combine the two on her serve and frequently has opposing teams out of system.

Johnson is a 2025 prospect from Eastlake* and at a solid 6’0, she was scoring from both pins throughout the day at the Expo. The junior attacker impressed one coach specifically with her focus on the details during positional drills and her competitive play during six-on-six. We like the consistency in the 6-foot-tall Johnson’s overall game. An outside hitter for Eastlake and Sudden Impact, Johnson can pass tough in serve receive and take a critical swing with the set on the line. Her club season built upon a strong sophomore season in high school, and Johnson developed her shot selection as well as her ability to take a set that might not be perfect and make it tough on the opposing defense. Eastlake will be counting on a big season from the junior attacker.
