Moore transitions effectively and moves laterally along the tape with enough athletic ability to become involved outside her immediate starting area. That becomes particularly useful as a blocker. Rather than remaining isolated in front of one attacker, Moore can travel to the pin and work to close the remaining space in the block. Offensively, she brings another dimension. Moore gets above the volleyball and is beginning to manipulate the direction of the attack instead of simply sending everything straight ahead. The ability to cut or angle around an established block provides potential answers when the obvious lane disappears. That’s a valuable concept to understand this early. Blocks will only become bigger and better organized as Moore advances, making the ability to attack around hands increasingly important.
