Miss Soto is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Harker Heights High School and also plays for the Austin Skyline volleyball club.  We are always looking for some new liberos to make us stop and take notice due to their play and that is exactly what happened at the showcase when we watched Gianna perform.  Her body control was on point in every aspect of the game.  She does such a great job of staying low and that takes  a lot of discipline that is not usually seen with younger players.  Usually there is a lot of standing up and extra movement in the shoulder region of younger players, but Miss Soto looked like a seasoned veteran.  Her ability to create great angles with her platform and set the second ball during out of system plays showed our scouts and court coaches that she has been trained very well.  By using great court vision, she was also able to position herself in perfect areas to play the ball well before the opposition contacted the ball.  While digging hard driven balls, liberos that play out of the left back zone, usually are better at moving to their right than they are digging balls to their left side, but G looked great going both ways.  That kind of dexterity in her body is going to take her very far as a defender.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase. 

Gianna Soto Gianna Soto 5'6" | DS/L/S Harker Heights | 2030 TX , a 2030 libero, is already very impressive for her age and shows strong potential to continue growing. She runs the back row efficiently, consistently getting into position with excellent split-step timing. Gianna’s “dig or die” effort never wavers, allowing her to keep plays alive and make key defensive stops. Her flat float serve adds another dimension to her game, putting pressure on opponents from the service line. With her work ethic, awareness, and determination, Gianna is a young libero to watch as she develops.
