About Gracie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a libero, my gameplay style is all heart and hustle. I’m relentless on the court — I’m not afraid to hit the floor, chase down impossible balls, and do whatever it takes to keep the play alive. I play with intensity, grit, and a deep love for the game that shows in every touch. I take pride in being the energy and backbone of my team’s defense, always pushing myself and my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a competitive mindset and a team-first attitude. I’m the type of player who stays locked in, lifts others up, and leads by example through effort and energy. I take every opportunity to grow, and I’m always hungry to improve. Whether we’re up or down, I stay focused, positive, and ready to fight for every point.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of school volleyball, I’ve played with Club Velocity for the past four years. I’m also involved in Greenwood’s FFA team and am a member of the National Honor Society. These experiences have helped shape my leadership skills, work ethic, and commitment both on and off the court.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball, FFA, and National Honor Society, I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills. I’ve learned how to communicate under pressure, support others, and lead by example. Being part of these organizations has also taught me the value of discipline, responsibility, and giving back through community service — all qualities I carry with me on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In April of 2021, I lost my dad to a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was only 42 and truly my best friend. Losing him was the hardest thing I’ve ever faced, and it forced me to grow up faster than most of my peers. While it’s a challenge, it’s also shaped me into someone who values time, works hard for what matters, and plays every game with purpose — because I know he’s watching and proud.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that feels like a second home —a place where I can grow both as an athlete and as a person. I want to be part of a competitive volleyball program with a strong team culture, supportive coaches, and high standards. I want to be surrounded by people who push each other to be better every day.
