About Gretchen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm great at reading the opposing team’s offense and am quick to transition from blocking to hitting. However, it’s my attitude that truly sets me apart from other girls. Any coach will tell you that I'm always smiling, approachable, and coachable. I listen attentively to feedback and apply it quickly. My commitment to growth and willingness to push myself make me a promising prospect for collegia

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a fierce competitive spirit, relentless drive to get better, and a passion for the game of volleyball. I'm known for my enthusiasm and positivity on and off the court and bring an uplifting energy to every practice, game, and team huddle. My natural athleticism paired with my disciplined work ethic has made me a standout player in Wisconsin.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have attended Catholic schools throughout my life, and my faith is a deeply important part of who I am. Through both my church and school communities, I have had the opportunity to volunteer my time and talents in various ways. Serving others and giving back is a core value that continues to guide me.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am seeking a D1 college that offers a supportive team atmosphere where all players are given opportunities to develop their skills and earn meaningful court time. I am also looking for a program with a strong tradition of success and close-knit feel of small campus life. Strong academic support is very important to me, as I am committed to excelling both athletically and academically.

Gretchen was one of the first middles to really stand out. She already shows impressive footwork for a freshman, moving quickly to close blocks and transition into her attack. Add in a heavy arm swing and the ability to put up a solid block, and she’s a tough matchup at the net. There’s no doubt we’ll be seeing her name in the rankings soon.
