She started her high school career with a state title for Sussex Hamilton, what an experience to raise a gold ball alongside your older sister (Brooke Baldwin now at Rutgers).  Following her high school season she saw great success on the club courts for Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold where they were among the top ten 16s teams in the country this past year.  She is someone who brings great athleticism and physicality to the court where she can defend and serve receive while also being an attacker who can score on the right side and outside.

Claire is a force to be reckoned with on every level, every position, every rotation, and not to be taken lightly due to her calm demeanor. That is the scary part: she is well-composed no matter the situation and can be counted on to come through in every moment. Her ability to serve with precision and cover in the back with the same efficiency is just the start. Quick footwork and athleticism help her attacks and stick every point. She doesn’t back down nor become rattled from the big moments.

Sussex Hamilton makes the trip to Mother McAuley as the defending large school D1 state champions in Wisconsin.  The suburban Milwaukee squad has quite the crew of 2029s who do a majority of the scoring for the Chargers.  Claire Baldwin Claire Baldwin 6'2" | OH/RS Sussex Hamilton | 2029 State WI is one of the top sophomores in the state of Wisconsin and does a little bit of everything from defending, serve receiving, and is able to score effectively from the outside and right side.  This past year she played up an age group for Milwaukee Sting 16Gold where they were a top ten team in the country.

Claire Baldwin Claire Baldwin 6'2" | OH/RS Sussex Hamilton | 2029 State WI starts her sophomore year as no secret.  She was a key piece to the Sussex Hamilton state title run in 2025 as a freshman.  The Chargers have a young, but very talented squad where Baldwin will look to lead this season.  They have a whole crew of sophomores who will see the court.  Baldwin is averaging 3.7 kills per set through 14 matches and has been handling quite the volume in serve receive.  Other sophomores to know on this team would be Faith Benson Faith Benson 6'2" | OH Sussex Hamilton | 2029 State WI , Kinsley Pogodzinski, and Kyah Peterson Kyah Peterson 5'9" | S/DS/L Sussex Hamilton | 2029 State WI who have made key contributions.

I forget that Claire Baldwin Claire Baldwin 6'2" | OH/RS Sussex Hamilton | 2029 State WI is only a 2029.  She has always played up an age group for Milwaukee Sting and is showing that she can compete with some of the top athletes in 16 Open.  I have seen her play on the outside as well as the right side.  Her backcourt game has evolved in an exciting way where she can hold her own in serve receive and transitions well from passing to attacking.  Her swing and ability to score points is where she really excels.  She hits  heavy ball and is starting to use more angles and changing up her speeds.  She was a key piece to the Sussex Hamilton state championship this past fall.

Claire was an essential piece of the Hamilton state championship this year. She is a powerhouse pin who puts up a massive block. What makes her a top-level athlete is her ability to perform at a high level on both pins. She puts up a massive block and adjusts her swings accordingly, no matter where she is playing. Claire was named to the WVCA Division 1 2nd Team All-State Team.

Claire Baldwin Claire Baldwin 6'2" | OH/RS Sussex Hamilton | 2029 State WI is a Class of 2029 right side playing up for Sting 15 Black. Her performance attacking and blocking was big for this team in their three set win over PowerPlex to advance to gold on day three. I was impressed with the maturity she plays with – cool, calm, and collected. She is so good out of system. She knows when to go for big swing and when to swing to play another day. She is going to be run to watch these next few years.
