‘s endurance and determination make her stand out. She will keep working until she gets it right, which translates into a highly coachable and adaptable style of play. Recently, she has been focused on her attitude both on and off the court, making sure she can reset quickly after mistakes and not put too much pressure on herself. Described as highly competitive, Gwyneth might not smile much during matches, but she loves the game and the opportunity to improve. With swimming as another sport and singing as a hobby, she brings balance and discipline to her athletic life. Granite Bay will rely on her consistency and competitive edge to stay sharp in high-pressure moments. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

Gwyneth is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She will play volleyball for Granite Bay High School and also plays for the SynergyForce volleyball club program. We were all thoroughly impressed with the overall ball control as she performed all night at the showcase. When the ball contacts her platform, it rebounds off of it very smoothly. This is due to her soft natural touch that she has on the ball. With what we saw, her skill set can best be described as a six rotation left side attacker that can help a team’s ball control and offense. One of the best aspects about her is that when she attacked the ball, she did not just swing away wildly. While a lot of younger hitters make a lot of errors, Miss Layton used great hand contact and off-speed shots to keep the defense off-balance. From a coach’s perspective, she had a very high volleyball IQ and that will only get better with age and more experience. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
