A 4A state championship was the cherry on top in her last high school season for the Graham-Kapowsin senior. The seventh-seeded Eagles may have been the grittiest team in the state, but they were not the tallest, quickest, or most talented. Brockway put the team on her back, and everyone played their role perfectly to grab the trophy. As a hitter, Brockway can give you any shot needed, her vision, velocity, and variety set her apart from other attackers in the state. She can rip it from any spot front or back row, accurately, or chip/roll it to any location if she wants. Importantly for a player with such a high use rate, she makes relatively few errors. The rest of her game is excellent as well, she gets on the floor defensively, rips a sidewinding serve, and can step in and set a ball comfortably. She was deservedly the 4A State Player of the Year and will compete collegiately at Illinois State.

Graham-Kapowsin is powerful, and they are led by senior Brockway a Illinois State commit. She can do it all as an outside hitter, and although she thunders the ball, her overall volleyball IQ, touch and feel are just as impressive. She is a hard match up from the service line, her float serve has tremendous pace and she likes to rip it into the seams. Many of the Eagles scoring runs happen with her serving, and she plays outstanding defense and opens up the GK attack from the back row. Brockway is a great player looking to end her high school career with a trophy, the Eagles will be as fired up as anyone in the SunDome.

You can’t leave Brockaway out of the conversation for the best ball striker in the state. The Eagles get her the ball as much as they can, and she will deliver the crushing shot when you need it most. She attacks with authority, and more than one defender over the past four years has absorbed a smash from the senior outside. Brockway is a finisher, she can be relied upon to take the big swing and close out a match in crunch time. Against Lake Stevens she showed finesse, passion and the powerful arm. Her game is well rounded and she does the little things that lead to big wins.
